Xenia Papastavrou

Since she was young, Xenia dreamed of working in a humanitarian organization in a faraway country, a dream that finally came true in her own home when she thought of creating a website to link people in need of food with those who have surplus food so that nothing is wasted. Hence, in May 2011, BOROUME was born as a platform that saves food and ensures its donation to those who need it most. Xenia has studied Ancient Greek and Philosophy at Edinburgh University and Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management at the London School of Economics. She is a writer of poetry and in 2006, she completed the UK Open University’s Creative Writing Course. Currently, she works for the Bodossaki Foundation where she is heading Giving for Greece, the Foundation’s latest initiative, a centre for charitable giving that assists individuals, corporations and institutions  that want to contribute towards social needs in Greece and who need advice and direction to ensure maxium possible impact, efficiency and transparency.
